Airbnb Welcome QR Card: WiFi, House Rules & Check-out

October 31, 2026

Guests arrive tired, often late, and always with the same questions. What is the WiFi password? Where do I park? Can I bring the bags in early? What time is check-out, and what do I do with the keys?

If the answers are spread across a booking message, a laminated sheet and a sticky note on the router, guests miss things — and they message you instead.

An Airbnb welcome QR card puts the answers in one place. Guests scan once and find the WiFi, the house rules and the check-out steps without hunting.

What to put on your welcome card

Keep the printed card simple: a friendly welcome line, your listing name and a clear QR code with a short instruction such as "Scan for WiFi & house info".

Behind the QR, the guest should find:

  • WiFi — network name and password, or a WiFi QR that joins the network in one scan.
  • House rules — quiet hours, smoking, pets, parties and anything specific to your home.
  • Arrival notes — parking, bins, heating, how the shower or hob works.
  • Check-out — the time, where to leave keys, and simple tidy-up steps.
  • A way to reach you — call or WhatsApp for real problems.
  • A review link — a polite thank-you with your review page.

You do not need everything on paper. The card is the doorway; the details live online, where you can change them.

One card, or a small set

Kardit gives hosts two ways to do this.

A single website QR card. Point the QR at your own guidebook or house-rules page. Guests scan it and read everything on their phone.

The Airbnb Host Kit. If you prefer separate cards for separate spots, the kit makes a matching set from one set of details: a 5×7in WiFi sign, a 5×7in house rules & guidebook sign, a review request card and a check-out reminder card. They share one style, so they look like they belong together on the counter, the fridge and by the door.

You can also use a My Kardit page as your guest page. Add buttons such as Website, Directions, Connect (call or WhatsApp) and Leave a Google review, then point the printed QR at it. If a password or rule changes, you edit the page — the printed card stays the same.

How to make it on Kardit

  1. Open the Airbnb host page or start from the Airbnb Host Kit.
  2. Add your listing name, WiFi network name and password, and the link to your house rules or guide.
  3. Pick a template you like. Change colours and text so it matches your home; you can upload your own photo or logo, which stays on your device.
  4. Check the preview. Scan the QR with your own phone to confirm it opens the right page and the WiFi joins.
  5. Download a print-ready PNG or PDF and print it at home or at a local print shop.

Your card details are kept on your device, not uploaded to Kardit's servers.

Printing and placement tips

  • Print at full size. Use the size the editor shows — the 5×7in sign size works well in a frame or stand.
  • Matte paper is easier to scan than glossy, which can glare under lamps.
  • Place cards where questions happen: the WiFi sign near the sofa or desk, house rules by the entrance, the check-out card near the door or key bowl.
  • Use a frame or a lamination sleeve so cards survive cleaning and spills.
  • Test after printing. Scan from a normal distance in the room's real lighting.
  • Mention it in your check-in message: "Everything you need is on the welcome card by the door."

Keeping it up to date

The best thing about a QR welcome card is that the paper does not have to change when your details do. Keep the changeable parts — rules, local tips, seasonal notes — on the linked page, and update them between stays.

The one exception is a WiFi QR that joins the network directly: that code contains the password itself, so if you change the password, download and print a fresh WiFi sign.

Short FAQ

Can guests join the WiFi without typing the password? Yes. A WiFi QR card lets most modern phones join the network straight from the camera. Printing the password as text as well helps guests with laptops.

Do I need a website for house rules? No. You can link to any page you already use, such as a shared document, or build a My Kardit page with buttons for your guide, directions and contact.

Can I make cards for several listings? Yes. Make one set per property with its own name, WiFi and links, all in the same style.

How much does it cost? Printed designs are paid for once, and repeat downloads of the same design are free — see pricing for details.

A calm, clear welcome is part of a good stay. One scan, and your guests have everything they need.
