WiFi QR signs for Airbnb hosts, cafés and offices
October 5, 2026
"What's the WiFi password?" is probably the most-asked question in any café, rental or office reception. A WiFi QR sign answers it before anyone has to ask.
How a WiFi QR code works
The code stores your network name, password and security type. When a guest scans it with their phone camera, the phone offers to join the network — no typing, no typos. The code doesn't need the internet to work, because everything is inside the code itself.
Where it helps
- Airbnb and holiday rentals: frame a sign by the router or on the fridge, next to your house rules.
- Cafés and restaurants: a small table card or counter sign saves staff time.
- Offices and clinics: a sign in reception keeps visitors off your private network.
Tips for a good sign
- Use a guest network rather than your main one.
- Print the network name in text too, for older phones.
- Remember to print a new sign when you change the password.
Kardit creates the QR on your device, so your WiFi password is never uploaded. Read more in our WiFi QR guide.
